Like Herodotus said, “Death is a delightful hiding place for weary men” some somnolent celebs found that in their personal haven- the bathroom. Flushing their fame well away, these celebrities listed below faced the blow of death in the secluded space of their residences. However absurd that may seem, but yes, they chose the bathroom of all places!

Michael Jackson

Undeniably, the globally popular pop-star of the decade was found dead in the bathroom at his residence in Los Angeles!
Right before his tour ‘This is it’, he lost his life because of the overuse of a mixture of the powerful anesthetic propofol and the anti-anxiety drug lorazepam. This idolized celeb’s death was a quintessential tale of spectacle. He quoted in Dancing in the Dream, “I’m going to search for my star until I find it. It’s hidden in the drawer of innocence, wrapped in a scarf of wonder.” Jackson found the star of peace in his space of peace!

Whitney Houston

Pop icon Whitney Houston was found face-down in a water filled bathtub at her hotel room in Beverly Hilton. One of the most famous and successful singers of her time, Houston was supposedly drugged as the paraphernalia was found nearby, but the reports claimed the cause of the death was accidental drowning. Maybe, she was just having a relaxing soak when death trapped her.

Jim Morrison

They always said that Morrison died of ‘natural causes’ which was due to the drug overdose. An autopsy was never conducted, but he was found dead in a ‘bathroom’ of a Paris nightclub. Surprisingly, the only girl he loved, Pamela Courson also died two years and nine months later after Jim’s death, because of the overdose of heroin.

Claude Francois

Reports say that the famous French Singer ‘Clo-Clo’ was found dead in his bathroom at the age of 27 in his Paris apartment. In the company of his girlfriend named Katheleen and a French secretary, the singer was preparing for the recording studio. After his shower, he noticed that the light in the socket was burned out; he attempted to reach the bulb with his feet in the water and was immediately electrocuted. He was pronounced dead after the numerous efforts to stimulate him turned futile.

Elvis Presley

The king of Rock-N-Roll Elvis the Pelvis was found dead in his Graceland mansion in Memphis, guess where – the bathroom!! The 42-year old artist was in his toilet, sprawled on the floor; he lay in his own vomit. Official report stated that he died of ‘cardiac arrhythmia’, which was result of his genetic destiny; or maybe it was the classic case of drug overdose. Or maybe his just like one of his songs said, “I slipped, I stumbled, I fell!”

Lenny Bruce

This 40-year old stand-up comedian whose acts were full of pungent satire died in his estate. He had a strong affinity for heroin and would shoot up while he was on his toilet. No wonder, he was found in this setting with narcotics, paraphernalia near his half-clad body. He hardly knew of sanctity, but the man had his way with satire and some notoriety and madness in the bathroom!

Heath Ledger

The “Dark Knight” actor faced a demise that was equally dark. At the age of 28, this Australian man died of an accidental overdose of a combination of prescription medications whose dead body was again, recovered at his comfort station. Hiding from the much acclaimed fame of Oscar nomination, the artist was in the fatal web of anxiety, depression and pain, tangential to any popularity.

Other famed celebs like Brittany Murphy, Judy Garland, Amy Winehouse, to name but a few, tragically embraced the solace of death in their bathrooms, right at the ideal place for privacy, keeping the paparazzi well at bay!
