What’s on offer?
Jobs
The Young Person’s Guarantee offers 470,000 extra job and training opportunities with Future Jobs Fund and other organisations.
Loads of councils, charities, voluntary organisations and community projects are getting involved too. They’re offering you the chance to put your skills to use – especially in industries like recycling, gardening, childcare, sports and transport.
Training
You’ll receive training in industries like retail, hospitality and social care.
Internships
Internships are a good way to get some valuable work experience before you step in to the real word. It helps you beef up your CV and learn new practical skills. It also gives you something to talk about when you go for interviews.
Backing Young Britain is an initiative that helps 16-24 year olds find internships and work experience. It offers many benefits that regular workers get such as fair pay, good working conditions, access to a union and training opportunities.
There are loads of businesses backing the organisation and offering work opportunities. You’ll probably recognise a few of them.
Career match
There are so many career opportunities available to you. What do you like doing in your spare time? What are you really good at?
Do you spend hours playing computers games? Why don’t you take it up as a career? Do you enjoy watching shows like X Factor and Big Brother? How about a career in production? Jobs don’t have to be boring.

Got an idea?
Are you an entrepreneur in the making? You can get your idea off the ground by visiting Jobcentre Plus. Here you’ll be assigned your own personal advisor who will work with you on a business plan.
You could also contact The Prince’s Trust. The charity provides grants that could help you get your idea get off the ground. You could also take part in their business programme, which teaches you how to write your own business plans and test out your ideas.
