The Government’s Children’s Plan tackles issues that directly affect you as a young person living in the UK . This week we will be looking at some of the ideas laid out in the plan and providing links and helpful tips that could be useful for you. In Part 1 n2k looks at how to be healthy and happy!

Eat tasty, be tasty

Are you always saying you’re going to get fit and eat healthier? Not sure how to get started? There are easy ways you can get on the road to a healthier lifestyle and feeling great from going to dance classes to giving sweets a break! Find out more.

Eating healthily doesn’t mean you have to stop eating everything you enjoy – trust us! Here’s what to do if you can’t give up your fizzy drinks and fave snacks.

For those who want to be more adventurous but are totally clueless in the kitchen, our resident teen chef Sam Stern has recipes you can make in minutes. He even writes books about it. You probably don’t need ideas on how to have fun but just in case you find yourself saying “I’m bored” any time soon check out how you can get sportier and also get out and about in your spare time.

From extreme sports to on line gaming, the need2know site is also full of ideas if you’re interested in music, sports or even if you like a bit of arts and culture. Check the entertainment section of the site where you’ll also see articles on the latest celebrity goss.

Next we look at ways you can stay safe – on the street, at school and even on line.
