  1. Puberty starts when your brain releases hormones, which give your body instructions to develop.
  2. As well as physical changes, these hormones might also have an effect on your moods or your emotions.
  3. Boys begin puberty between 10 and 15, while girls can start between 8 and 13 years old.
  4. There is no right or wrong age for girls to begin their periods, but they can get them between the ages of 8 and 16 years old.
  5. If you're worried about your first period, talk to someone you trust. They'll know what you're going through.
